LEARN TO TRAVEL, TRAVEL TO LEARN
Learn to Travel, Travel To Learn.
The idea behind the Learn to Travel, Travel to Learn Program is to allow the participants to get experience and knowledge on subjects connected to Environment, Climate Change and Global Warming. The program will challenge the participants, to collect and connect all information available and take it out into the field during our different periods. The aim of the program is to create awareness of global environmental issues among our participants, so they later can spread the word on this Big Issues.
PRE COURSERead More
Pre Course (Optional)
When you start being curious about our Program contact one of our representatives to receive the full package of information about it, the way you can enroll and of course the cost of the Program. You will also find out about financing possibilities that we offer to you through our Pre-Course Period.
The Pre-Course is a Period previous to the Start of our Learn to Travel, Travel to Learn program, created by us, for our students. We are aware of the economical situation of the world today and we are also aware of the salary level in the European Countries. For this reason, we have created a way to obtain a scholarship by working in Norway, Sweden, Denmark or other European countries in order for you to be able to cover up the cost of our Program.
The work you will do in this period is whatever we, you and your team mates can find: dishwasher in a restaurant, cleaning, collecting second-hand clothes from collection boxes, work in a school for kids with special needs, salesperson in a secondhand shop or other jobs.... Some of the jobs we can provide, some of the jobs you and your team mates will find with support from the school.
You have to be aware that you can not earn money for private purposes in our Pre-course. If you quit the work or quit the 6 months’ program no money will be paid out to you privately.
Other private expenses:

Once you arrive at One World Institute, Norway we will get together as a team, we will be part of running the school with the other students present here.
We will have studies and a goal of points to achieve during this time and we will experience one investigation at a University, a Hydroelectric Project or anything that we choose in the environmental field. While in Norway we will prepare our travelling: visas, tickets, investigations and places to visit, we will decide together on the final product and present and argue our plans to the Teachers’ Council and the students body.
ON THE ROADRead More
ON THE ROAD
(The destination of the travelling will be decided by the Team Leader depending on the Team’s economy)
Once our route is ready, tickets bought and investigations planed and approved my the Teachers’ Council, we will travel by land through different countries ready to learn about environmental practices, problems and peoples’ reaction and action to them. Reforestation, wildlife protection, organic farming, pollution and social problems around the environment (employment, destruction of natural areas, responsible fishing, urbanisation, illegal hunting, etc.) will be subjects of investigations during our travel. Documentation of our experiences with pictures, interviews and videos are mandatory.
This is our last month of conclusions, presentations and promotion to spread the word about the Program.
On our final month in Norway we will concentrate in sharing our experiences with the other teams in the school. We will make presentations from the different countries we traveled, from people that we met and projects that we visited. Conclusions and final discussions will close our Learn to Travel, Travel to Learn Program.
